Dry verge end caps are a much better alternative than using sand and cement for the end of the tiles on a gable end. There are individual dry verges, continous dry verges for slate, and also linear dry verge more suited to smaller tiles and slates i.e. Rosemary Tiles. They come in dark coloured slate grey ( most people think they are black !) and in a brown colour.
They are mechanically fastened and can be fitted to gable ends with or without a barge boards. We can install them to the majority of gable end tiles, slates etc. We do not just fasten through the sand and cement and try to find the end of the wooden roofing lathe, we use a new treated timber lathe fastened on the PVC barge board to enable a firm and durable fixing. Where there is no barge boards we extend the existing lathe using a dry verge refurbishment kit to make sure there is a solid firm anchor for the dry verge end cap.
